Because the US market is so big and so influential, developments of interest to investors are widely covered in the quality press in most countries.

In the UK, for example, the Financial Times has extensive coverage of developments in the US markets, and US company news. This is a good first port of call for information, as is the FT's web site (www.ft.com). This has a searchable archive and plenty of company information. FT Investor (www.ftinvestor.com) also has information on international markets.
However, to get closer to the subject it may be necessary to use sources originating in the US. The Wall Street Journal's European edition is a good way of bridging this gap. This offers a cheap annual subscription deal. The newspaper is delivered to your door each day, and part of the deal is that you have free access to the WSJ's web site (www.wsj.com). This has a searchable archive of articles from the US edition of the paper. This can be a valuable resource when researching particular stocks or other types of US investment.
As well as company news and comment the WSJ has extensive coverage of other forms of investment, including bonds and mutual funds, and extensive price information.
