14. Things to do after the inaugural meeting
- Send out the minutes of the inaugural meeting
The secretary of the club should make comprehensive notes of the meeting and send out a record of the decisions made. The minutes do not need to include a record of the discussion as well, though some secretaries choose to provide one. Click here for an example of minutes. - While some actions at this time may feel over formal, such as the appointment of separate people to sign cheques, remember that although the club is small now, it could have £100,000 in it in three years time; so put in security systems at the beginning to reflect this.
- At the same time as sending out the minutes, the treasurer should send each member a standing order. Click here for an example of a standing order mandate.
